Apple Reportedly Assembled 25 Percent of 230 Million iPhone Units in India in 2025

In a significant shift in its manufacturing strategy, Apple has reportedly increased its assembly of iPhones in India to approximately 25 percent of its global production. According to a Bloomberg report, the tech giant is set to produce between 220 million and 230 million iPhone units annually, with about 55 million units expected to be assembled in India by 2025. This move is part of Apple's broader strategy to diversify its manufacturing base away from China, driven by geopolitical tensions and an evolving market landscape. Key contract manufacturers, including Foxconn, Tata Electronics, and Pegatron, are facilitating this increased production. Additionally, a Union Minister recently highlighted that Apple exported $16 million worth of iPhones from India during the first nine months of the financial year 2026, underscoring the growing importance of India in Apple's supply chain. As Apple continues to expand its presence in India, this development not only bolsters the Indian economy but also positions the country as a critical player in global technology manufacturing.
