Bhutan Moves Over $11 Million Worth of Bitcoin From Government Holdings, Arkham Data Shows

The government of Bhutan has transferred approximately 175 Bitcoin, valued at around $11.85 million (about Rs. 98 crore), from its national cryptocurrency reserves to a newly established wallet, as reported by Arkham Intelligence. This transaction, identified through blockchain data, suggests that the receiving wallet has previous connections to government-linked accounts. Experts indicate that such transfers often relate to internal treasury management strategies or potential preparations for institutional sales. Bhutan is notable for being one of the largest nation-state holders of Bitcoin, reflecting its growing engagement with digital assets and the broader cryptocurrency landscape.
