India Defines 4 Priority Sectors For Using Natural Gas Amid Iran-US War

In response to the ongoing Iran-US conflict, which has significantly disrupted global natural gas supplies, India has identified four priority sectors for the strategic utilization of natural gas. The situation escalated as the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial maritime route for energy transport, remains heavily impacted, resulting in over 750 cargo ships being stranded at key ports. This disruption not only poses risks to energy security but also challenges India's energy policy as it seeks to enhance its natural gas usage across various sectors. The Indian government is keen on leveraging natural gas to fuel economic growth, support cleaner energy initiatives, and reduce dependence on more polluting fossil fuels. With the current geopolitical tensions, India is aiming to strengthen its energy resilience and ensure a stable supply of natural gas for its industries and households, amidst an uncertain global energy landscape.
