India has diversified LPG sources, says Hardeep Singh Puri amid panic over supply

Amid concerns regarding liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply in India, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has reassured the public about the country’s diversified import strategy. India has successfully expanded its LPG sources, now importing from a variety of countries including the United States, Norway, Canada, Algeria, and Russia. This strategic move aims to mitigate the risks associated with dependence on a limited number of suppliers, especially in light of global market fluctuations and geopolitical tensions. Puri emphasized that these efforts ensure a stable and secure supply of cooking gas for Indian households, addressing recent panic that arose from supply chain disruptions. The minister's remarks underscore the government's commitment to energy security and its proactive approach to sourcing essential commodities from multiple international partners, which is crucial for meeting domestic demand and safeguarding against potential shortages in the future.
