India to join Pax Silica, US-led AI and chip supply chain initiative, on Friday
On Friday, India is set to officially join Pax Silica, a strategic initiative led by the United States aimed at strengthening global supply chains for artificial intelligence and semiconductor technology. This collaboration marks a significant step in enhancing international partnerships in critical technology sectors. Currently, nine countries, including Australia, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Qatar, Singapore, the UK, and the UAE, have already signed on to this initiative. The Pax Silica project focuses on fostering cooperation among member nations to secure and diversify supply chains, particularly in the face of growing geopolitical tensions and supply disruptions seen in recent years. By participating in this initiative, India aims to bolster its technology sector and ensure a stable supply of chips and AI resources, which are crucial for the country's digital ambitions and economic growth. This move is expected to not only enhance India's role in the global tech landscape but also strengthen its ties with key allies in the Asia-Pacific and beyond, reflecting a broader strategy to integrate into international technology frameworks.
