Iran-US conflict: India in touch with key players for transit of more vessels

In light of escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, India is proactively engaging with key stakeholders to ensure the safe transit of vessels through the strategically critical Strait of Hormuz. On Saturday, two Indian carriers, Shivalik and Nanda Devi, successfully navigated the strait, transporting a total of 92,700 metric tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). This development underscores India's commitment to maintaining a steady supply of energy amidst geopolitical uncertainties. The Strait of Hormuz is a vital maritime corridor, with a significant portion of the world's oil passing through it, and India's involvement highlights its strategic interests in regional stability. Diplomatic channels are being utilized to mitigate risks associated with potential disruptions in maritime traffic due to the ongoing conflict. As India continues to strengthen its energy security, the government remains vigilant in monitoring the situation, ensuring that its trade routes remain open and safe for future shipments.
