Jaipur firm bought Amul items near expiry, tweaked dates to sell, 1.5 lakh kg destroyed: ‘Learnt method on YouTube’

In a shocking revelation, a Jaipur-based firm has been caught red-handed for purchasing Amul products approaching their expiry dates, manipulating the expiration labels, and reselling them. The operation was initiated following a complaint lodged through the state government's 181 helpline, which flagged suspicious activities at the company. Upon investigation, officials discovered a staggering 1.5 lakh kilograms of dairy products that had been tampered with. The firm reportedly acquired the method of altering expiry dates from online tutorials, particularly YouTube. This incident raises significant concerns about food safety and regulatory compliance in the dairy industry. Authorities have vowed to take stringent action against such malpractice to protect consumers and maintain the integrity of the food supply chain. The situation serves as a reminder of the importance of vigilance among consumers and the need for robust enforcement of food safety regulations in India.
