Nepal To Vote In First Election Tomorrow Since Gen Z-Led Protests Toppled Government

Nepal is set to hold its first elections since the significant protests led by the youth generation, which resulted in the ousting of the previous government. Approximately 19 million of the country's 30 million citizens are eligible to cast their votes for a new 275-member legislature. The election process involves the direct election of 165 representatives, while the remaining 110 will be chosen through a proportional representation system. This critical electoral event comes amid heightened political engagement among the youth, who have been instrumental in advocating for change and democratic reforms. The outcome of this election is expected to shape Nepal's political landscape and influence governance, especially in light of recent movements calling for greater accountability and transparency in leadership. As the nation prepares for this pivotal moment, the eyes of the international community are also focused on Nepal, eager to see how the electorate responds to the challenges ahead.
