NHAI Receives Nine Bids for Six-Laning of Jaipur–Kishangarh Section of NH-48 in Rajasthan

The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has received nine competitive bids for the six-laning of the Jaipur–Kishangarh section of National Highway 48 (NH-48) in Rajasthan. This project is a key infrastructure initiative aimed at improving road capacity and reducing travel time on one of the most heavily trafficked corridors in the state.

Project Overview

The Jaipur–Kishangarh stretch of NH-48 is a critical segment connecting Rajasthan's capital Jaipur to the marble hub of Kishangarh and further to Ajmer. The proposed six-laning work will significantly enhance traffic flow along this corridor, which sees high volumes of commercial and passenger vehicles daily. The receipt of nine bids signals strong interest from major infrastructure firms in executing the project.

Significance of NH-48

National Highway 48, formerly known as NH-8, is one of India's most important national highways, forming part of the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway corridor. The Jaipur–Kishangarh section in particular plays a vital role in the movement of goods, especially marble and granite from the Ajmer-Kishangarh belt, as well as tourism-related traffic to Ajmer and Pushkar.

The six-laning project aligns with the central government's Bharatmala Pariyojana initiative, which aims to develop a network of economic corridors, inter-corridors, ring roads, and coastal and port connectivity roads across India.
