Samsung Galaxy Smartphones Get Inactivity Restart Security Feature With Latest Update: Report

Samsung has rolled out a new security feature for its Galaxy smartphones, termed the Inactivity Restart. This feature automatically reboots a device if it remains locked for a continuous period of 72 hours. Once restarted, the phone enters a restricted mode that prevents access to data until it is unlocked, thereby enhancing user data protection against potential theft or loss. The Inactivity Restart feature has been observed on select models, including the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z Fold 7, although it is not yet available on the latest Galaxy S26 series. This initiative aligns with Samsung's ongoing commitment to bolster device security, particularly in an era where smartphone theft and data breaches are increasingly prevalent. Users can find this option within the Security and Privacy settings of their devices, reinforcing the importance of safeguarding personal information in today's digital landscape.
