Shivraj Chouhan directs officials to achieve target of creating 6 crore 'Lakhpati Didis'

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has urged officials to prioritize the ambitious initiative aimed at creating six crore 'Lakhpati Didis' across the state. This program, which translates to 'wealthy sisters,' is designed to empower women through financial independence and entrepreneurship. The Rural Development Ministry has reported that the initiative has already facilitated approximately ₹1.5 lakh crore in bank-linked financial assistance, aiding women to start their businesses and improve their socio-economic conditions. Chouhan emphasized the importance of meeting the target and leveraging local resources, urging officials to provide necessary support and training. This initiative aligns with the state's broader goal of enhancing women's roles in agriculture and other sectors, thereby contributing to overall rural development. The government aims to create a sustainable model that not only elevates women's financial status but also fosters community development through collective efforts. As the program progresses, the focus will be on ensuring that the benefits reach the grassroots level, empowering women to become active contributors to the economy.
