South African Cheetah 'Gamini' Gives Birth To 3 Cubs At Kuno National Park

In a significant boost to wildlife conservation efforts in India, South African cheetah 'Gamini' has successfully given birth to three cubs at Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh. This event marks a pivotal moment in the reintroduction of cheetahs to India, a species that had been declared extinct in the country since the 1950s. Following this birth, the total population of cheetahs in India has now risen to 38, as announced by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav. The Kuno National Park, designated as a sanctuary for these big cats, is part of a broader initiative aimed at restoring the cheetah population and preserving biodiversity. This development not only highlights the success of the reintroduction program but also reinforces the importance of conservation efforts in protecting endangered species in India.
