Switch to PNG, says govt amid LPG concerns

In response to growing concerns over liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) supply amid global disruptions and rising panic among consumers, India's petroleum ministry has urged approximately six million households to transition to piped natural gas (PNG). The move aims to alleviate the pressure on LPG availability, which has seen an increase in demand due to recent panic buying. The government emphasizes that PNG is a more stable and environmentally friendly alternative, providing consistent supply without the logistical challenges associated with LPG. As households face the threat of supply shortages, the ministry is promoting the benefits of PNG, including its cost-effectiveness and reduced carbon footprint. The call to switch comes at a crucial time when the energy sector is grappling with fluctuations in global markets and supply chain issues, making it imperative for consumers to explore reliable energy options. The transition to PNG not only addresses immediate supply concerns but also aligns with India's long-term goals of energy security and sustainability, contributing to the nation’s commitment to cleaner energy solutions.
