Telangana to enact new municipal Act for Hyderabad

The Telangana government is set to introduce a new legislative framework, the Hyderabad Core Urban Act, aimed at modernizing urban governance in the city. This initiative will replace the existing Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Act and is expected to be discussed in the upcoming assembly session. Key priorities of the new Act include enhancing road infrastructure, improving fire safety measures, and facilitating comprehensive urban development. By focusing on these critical areas, the government aims to address the growing needs of Hyderabad's rapidly expanding population and infrastructure demands. The move reflects the administration's commitment to sustainable urban planning and effective municipal management, positioning Hyderabad as a model for other urban centers in India.
