Union minister urges Telangana to work with NTPC to fulfil power demand

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has called on the Telangana government to collaborate with the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) by signing a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a new thermal power project. This initiative comes in light of the state's escalating electricity demand, which is expected to reach 100,000 megawatts by the year 2047. Reddy emphasized the urgency of addressing the growing energy needs to ensure sustainable development and economic growth in the region. The minister's appeal highlights the critical role of NTPC in augmenting the power supply to meet future demands, thereby supporting Telangana's industrial and infrastructural expansion. The proposed project aims to bolster the state's energy capacity, contributing to both residential and commercial electricity requirements. In the context of India's broader energy strategy, this partnership could be pivotal in enhancing the reliability of power supply and fostering regional development in Telangana.
